The fatty liver is a reaction of the organism to various metabolism disorders like adiposity, fat metabolism disorder (hyperlipoproteinaemy), diabetes mellitus (increased blood sugar), pregnancy or increased alcohol consumption. In rare cases also cirrhosis of the liver can develop from this.
