Fatty liver, hepatic steatosis, non-alcoholic hepatic steatosis

The fatty liver is a reaction of the organism to various metabolism disorders like adiposity, fat metabolism disorder (hyperlipoproteinaemy), diabetes mellitus (increased blood sugar), pregnancy or increased alcohol consumption. In rare cases also cirrhosis of the liver can develop from this.

Moderate alcohol consumption, low-fat nutrition, diagnosing and treating the basic disease.

Very often there are no obvious symptoms, sometimes maybe fatigue, exhaustion, vomiting, flatulencies

Laboratory tests:
Liver-function test (transaminasis check),
Cholesterol blood level (triglyceride, cholesterol)
Ultrasound examination (sonography, maybe puncture)

Medical treatment of the basic disease, moderate alcohol consumption, healthy nutrition (low fat and low sugar level).
Medication: Mostly without any success.
